Here's a little bit of advice from me to you: When you are ill or not feeling quite yourself, do not make any major changes to your appearance! You will come to regret it, it is not a good thing when your outward appearance is suddenly nothing at all like your "inner" appearance.
So, recently there have been a lot of changes in my appearance, and I'm not looking at all like I think I should. I've been ill for a while, and am now recovering from some minor surgery that should fix the issue. While I was ill, I lost quite a bit of weight, which wasn't a good thing as I was already thin. So, since I was looking a little bit emaciated and skeletal, my long, incredibly thick hair was making me look even more like an anorexic. What did I do? I cut it off!
In truth, the haircut is pretty cute! It's a blunt bob, and whenever I show up somewhere that people know me (my niece's birthday party, either of the 2 hospitals I work at, etc), I have been getting a TON of compliments! But, I just don't really feel like myself, so I will be growing it out. The good news is that my hair grows incredibly fast, so it will only take about 3 months to regain all 5 inches that I lost.
DH and I watched one of our favorite movies the other night on DVD, The Italian Job. Whenever I watch this movie I am overwhelmed by feelings of just wanting to transform myself into Charlize Theron. The woman is amazingly beautiful! For the entire movie she rocks a shoulder length haircut with layers, is pretty blond and has a light tan. Her clothes are classic and simple, allowing her to shine through. My husband knows that I'm like this, and will usually convince me that I'm pretty as I am, however this time I was obsessing about Charlize's hair even more than usual. We actually have decided jointly that I would grow my hair out about 3 inches and get layers cut in it like Charlize's layers. Good news, shouldn't take too long! Now the only problem is getting a hair style on Designhergals.com that looks like it for my little cartoon!Do you take your inspiration from movies sometimes, and which ones?

from the animation, it looks super cute! im sure it will be good for this hot weather, too. lucky you with the fast growing hair...mine is pretty fast, but I don't know if i could do 5 inches in 3 months!
hey, at least the shorter hair takes less time to dry so you can focus more of your 15 mins on other stuff!
:) D
I hope you find a pic of your desired hair style. I would love to wear my hair like that but it is way too fine!
Being a South African myself I feel very proud when people admire Charlize.
Hope you feel better soon. I discovered your blog on your notepad on the Nailboard. (Small virtual world...!)
I definitely get my inspiration from movies.
Angelina Jolie's hair in Mr. and Mrs. Smith is what I'd LOVE to have.. or Catherine Zeta-Jones' hair (any time). I'll try growing out my hair again, but I always end up chopping it to just below my shoulders for easy maintenance.
